Opulent Vintage Velvet Mink Hat
Dating to the mid 1940's this unusual hat certainly makes a statement! Styled with a high, mink crown and fitted velvet sides. The velvet wrap ties at the back of the head in a turban like manner and can then be worn like a scarf around the neck or left to fall loosely in the back.
A butterfly of blue paste jewels to match the velvet adorns the center front of the crown with teardrops that are outlined with clear pastes. On either side of the crown are six additional blue paste ornaments stitched diagonally down the crown. A jeweled pin can hold the tie firmly in place in the back as shown.
Overall condition is very good with no minimal wear to the fur at the edge of the crown. This is very minimal and hardly noticeable when displayed or worn.
