Edwardian Linen Lace Cutwork Embroidered Day Dress

This dress dates to the early Edwardian era. It is made of pristine white handkerchief linen and embellished with hand embroidery, cutwork and handmade laces. In a larger, wearable size this dress is breathtaking. The lace at the collar and cuffs has also been inset into the bodice back and front as well as the skirt front and sleeves. The front closure is with tiny thread covered buttons with two sets of hooks and eyes at the set in waistband and snaps from the waist line to the bottom of the button closure on the left front of the skirt.

Overall condition is very good to excellent. There are no rips, holes or stains. The only flaws that I could find is a cluster of tiny rust speck on the collar that look like no mare than pin holes if they are noticed at all and the fact that the original sash is missing. I have shown the dress in some photos with a watered silk ribbon sash that is being sold separately but I think a white or ivory sash would be more fitting with this dress. Of course it is up to your personal preference!
The sash that is shown in some of the photos is an example only.
