1930s Silk Chiffon Tea Gown
An elegant and simple silhouette has been created with soft green silk chiffon. The skirt is bias cut with "v" shaped seaming across the hips and ruching around the waistline at the front and back center and over the hips adding a bit of shaping and definition to an otherwise simple dress. The neckline and armscyes are outlined with a double row of rhinestones. The neckline features a gentle V both front and back with the back being cut slightly lower than the front. As there is no closure and the dress is made to simply slip on over the head it could be worn with the lower V in the front if desired.
A matching slip is attached at the shoulders with snaps and echoes the cut of the dress. Overall the condition is very good and wearable with care as the chiffon is by nature more delicate than other fabrics. There is no weakness of the fabric, no staining, rips or repairs noted. There are one or two rhinestones missing at the bottom of the armscyes where they are not noticeable when worn.
