1930s Cathedral Trained Wedding Gown

To say that this vintage 1930s wedding gown of ivory silk charmeuse is gorgeous would be an understatement. In fact I'm at a loss for words to describe just how beautiful this is in person so I'm not going to even try. It is understated in its simplicity. A long sleek shift of a dress with art deco styling and Hollywood glamour.

The long fitted sleeves close above the wrists with six buttons and loops on each. The bodice is beautifully draped with a gently rolled collar and decorative buttons down the back and a snap closure at the back neckline. The waistline is self belted in the back and shaped in an inverted V in the front. Side closure with a combination of hooks and eyes. The cathedral length train is amazing. Weighted at the side seams where the dress meets the train and at the seaming on the train near the end where you will also find wrist loops, it measures a full 114" across the bottom edge which is squared off rather than rounded.

The overall condition is excellent with no rips, holes stains or shattering. There is a bit of light general soiling on the train as you might expect but nothing that detracts. One of the back buttons had fallen off and I have re stitched it back in place. This is a true find for the wedding collector or vintage bride!
